Drug Statistics and Facts
Historically, oxycodone products have been popular drugs of abuse among the narcotic abusing population. In recent years, concern has grown among federal, state, and local officials about the dramatic increase in the illicit availability and abuse of OxyContin® products. These products contain large amounts of oxycodone (10 to 160 mg) in a formulation intended for slow release over about a 12-hour period.
Serious Psychological Distress and Receipt of Mental Health Services SAMHSA's 2007 National Survey on Drug Use & Health (NSDUH) found that 10.9% of adults aged 18 or older (24.3 million) experienced serious psychological distress (SPD) in the past year. Of the adults who experienced serious psychological distress in the past year, less than half (44.6%) received mental health services during that time. Young adults aged 18 to 25 with serious psychological distress were less likely than other adults with serious psychological distress to have received mental health services: 29.4% of those aged 18 to 25; 47.2% of those aged 26 to 49, and 53.8% of those aged 50 or older with past year serious psychological distress received mental health services in the past year. Of the adults with past year serious psychological distress, 6.9% received all three types of mental health services (inpatient, outpatient, and prescription medication), 43.3% received only outpatient services and prescription medication, and 34.7% received only prescription medication.
Current illicit drug use differed by employment status in 2008. Among adults aged 18 or older, the rate of illicit drug use was higher for unemployed persons (19.6 percent) than for those who were employed full time (8.0 percent) or part time (10.2 percent). These rates were all similar to the corresponding rates in 2007.
From 2002 to 2009, there was an increase among young adults aged 18 to 25 in the rate of current nonmedical use of prescription-type drugs (from 5.5 to 6.3 percent), driven primarily by an increase in pain reliever misuse (from 4.1 to 4.8 percent). There were decreases in the use of cocaine (from 2.0 to 1.4 percent) and methamphetamine (from 0.6 to 0.2 percent).

Drug Rehabs That Accept Private Health Insurance

The cost of drug treatment programs for drug addiction and alcoholism treatment, are on the rise. Both outpatient drug treatment centers and residential drug rehab programs come at a cost that most in the mist of drug or alcohol addiction cannot afford. Most private insurance policies provide for at least a percentage of coverage for private drug treatment programs including drug or alcohol detoxification.

It is a sad fact that, even though a drug treatment center takes insurance, many who need treatment for drug and alcohol abuse are less likely statistically to have any medical insurance coverage at all. It is estimated that 15 percent of adults over the age of 18 have no coverage at all and that 30 percent rely solely upon government and federally funded health coverage services like Medicaid and Medicare. surveys show that approximately 31 percent of people who felt they needed treatment for drug addiction or alcoholism could not enroll in a drug rehab program due to lack of finance and insurance coverage.

To find out more about a drug rehab program.s self pay options please contact them directly. Also, don't hesitate to request information from more than one facility.

Drug abuse is one of the major concerns in the United States and other countries. Drug rehab programs offering self payments are crucial for those with drug abuse problems, to educate them about the facts about chemical dependency and help them make important changes in their lives to lead a drug free lifestyle. Drug rehab typically involves counseling and behavioral therapy coupled with group therapy, lectures and group discussions, to help those in recovery cope with their addiction. Success rate of drug rehab programs are pretty high and most drug rehab patients are able to attain and maintain prolonged abstinence from drugs.
