Drug Statistics and Facts
In some areas of the United States, the trade of methamphetamine is rampant. Because of the ease of production and its addiction rate, methamphetamine is a favorite amongst many drug distributors.
Among all adults aged 18 or older with SMI, 52.6 percent received prescription medication, 40.5 percent received outpatient services, and 7.5 percent received inpatient services for a mental health problem in the past year. Respondents could report more than one type of service used.
In 2008, among adults aged 18 or older, age at first use of marijuana was associated with dependence on or abuse of marijuana. Among those who first tried marijuana at age 14 or younger, 13.5 percent were classified with illicit drug dependence or abuse, higher than the 2.2 percent of adults who had first used marijuana at age 18 or older.
The rates of binge alcohol use among youths aged 12 to 17 were 9.8 percent in nonmetropolitan areas, 9.0 percent in small metropolitan areas, and 8.4 percent in large metropolitan areas.

Drug Free Rehab

A drug free rehab is a program that does not use drugs to solve the problem of addiction. This type of rehabilitation program is based on education and a holistic approach to drug treatment. Attending a drug free rehab is a healthy alternative to other conventional types of rehabs.

Conventional drug rehabs mask the problem of drug addiction through their use of medications, usually psychiatric drugs. Inevitably, as the individual continues to use medication to "solve" the problem of drug addiction, they begin to rely more and more on the medication rather than the power within themselves. The drug addict unintentionally trades one addiction for another.

The benefits of entering into a drug free rehab are numerous. This type of drug rehabilitation is "natural" and "holistic". The addict is able to come off drugs on their own and remain clean without the need of additional psychiatric medications. Once the individual has completed the rehab program, they find that they do not need anything other than the skills they learned during treatment to remain sober.

The individual is able to enter into society clean and sober, while being drug and medication free. A graduate of a drug free rehab program is able to handle the challenges of life without the need of drugs or medication. They have learned skills such as communication, ethics, self control, self-esteem, and the ability to determine characteristics of social and anti-social personalities. All of these skills are necessary to confront and take care of problems on their own.
