Drug Ed and Prevention in Minnesota
In Minnesota as in the rest of the nation, there are many young people who are attracted to drugs and alcohol in spite of the drug education and prevention efforts that have been put in place.
In particular, intoxicating substances often appeal to young people. This is because, in some cases, drugs seem like they can solve problems like inability to socially fit in, shyness, boredom, a lack of excitement and adventure in life, and difficult family, school, and social situations.
When this concept is expressed in terms of young people, they might be able to understand it. For this reason, it is essential to come up with and implement effective drug education programs. These programs, on the other hand, should offer alternatives to young people away from the escape that they think they can derive from alcohol and drugs.
