Drug Statistics and Facts
Meth is odorless, making it difficult to detect.
Rates of substance dependence or abuse were associated with level of education in 2009. Among adults aged 18 or older, those who graduated from a college or university had a lower rate of dependence or abuse (7.5 percent) than those who graduated from high school (8.9 percent), those who did not graduate from high school (11.6 percent), and those with some college (9.9 percent).
The percentage of the population aged 12 or older receiving substance use treatment within the past year remained stable between 2007 and 2008 and between 2002 and 2008 (1.6 percent in 2008, 1.6 percent in 2007, and 1.5 percent in 2002). Although the number of persons receiving substance use treatment within the past year remained stable between 2007 and 2008, the number increased between 2002 (3.5 million) and 2008 (4.0 million).
Between 1992 and 2007, there was a marked decrease in the percent of treatment admissions for smoked substances (66 percent in 1992 vs. 50 percent in 2007). Changes are evident in both demographics of these admissions and in the substances smoked. For example, over three quarters (76 percent) of female admissions for smoked substances in 1992 reported smoking cocaine/crack compared to 37 percent in 2007. Similarly, in 1992 more than half of admissions for smoked cocaine/crack were between 25 and 34 years of age; by 2007, 41 percent were between the ages of 35 and 44.

Drug Rehab and treatment centers Information Scottsdale, Arizona

Looking for Drug Rehab
and treatment centers
in Scottsdale, Arizona?

Each drug rehab in Scottsdale, Arizona has a different approach to the recovery process. Take note of what is important to you, and make decisions based on your personal needs. Keep in mind that in Scottsdale there are a multitude of treatment options to choose from: outpatient treatment, in patient treatment, support groups, drug rehabilitation, alcohol rehab, drug treatment programs, sober living, halfway houses, long term treatment, short term treatment, counseling, and many more. An individual can become thoroughly confused by asking a half-dozen recovering alcoholics or drug addicts in Scottsdale how they conquered their abuse of alcohol or drugs; the answers vary although each of them are convincing and emotional. They will cite such diverse approaches as hospitalization, diet, exercise, counseling, sauna's, religion, hypnosis, amino acids and self-help groups. When it comes to successful treatment, only one thing is certain: practically any approach will work for some of the people, some of the time. To put it another way, successful drug rehabilitation is like a designer suit- it's got to be tailor-made for each individual. A great deal of variation exists in the degree of dependence among drug users. The teenager who smokes marijuana three times a week is not as dependent as the thirty year old who has smoked marijuana six times a day for 15 years and has already relapsed after being in two drug rehabilitation centers. It's obvious that these individuals need different approaches to treatment. Similarly, among cocaine users are some who use it in binge fashion, one or two days a month, and others who use it several times each day. Again, different treatment approaches are required for each case.

For those who do not have a long history of drug addiction, an outpatient treatment program might be the correct decision. This form of treatment may be a viable solution for those who have a brief drug addiction history. These individuals might only need the guidance and counseling available though this method of treatment. On the other hand, those who have experienced an extended period of drug addiction, choosing the correct drug rehab program typically means that they should enter into an in patient drug rehab program not located in Scottsdale. The structure, 24-hour support and change of enviornment made available through this type of drug rehab recovery program can be highly effective for those recovering from a long term drug addiction problem. Most drug rehab professionals in do not recommend any one "best" treatment approach, recognizing the many variations among drug and alcohol abusers. In general, the levels of treatment range from simple and behavioral to complex and medical. The person dependent upon drugs or alcohol may have used the chosen substance for so long that he or she has literally forgotten how to cope with the daily challenges of life; how to have a meaningful, drug-free lifestyle; or how to solve the social or psychological problems that prompted the substance abuse in the first place. In these instances, a very comprehensive approach must be prescribed if the individual is to expect any degree of successful recovery. Once stability is achieved, the "clean" or sober individual can take several steps to enhance recovery and avoid relapse. Among the general recommendations are belonging to a group as a support system, having a religious involvement, practicing good health habits; including proper diet, sleep, and exercise, as well as goal planning and self enhancement projects.

Long Term Alcohol Treatment in Scottsdale

According to many recent studies in the field of addiction, individuals in Scottsdale that are addicted to Alcohol will benefit the most from long term Alcohol Rehab. These individuals have a much greater chance at sobriety after completing a long term Alcohol Rehab Program. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse (NIDA) concluded that the longer the treatment, the better the chances of long term Alcohol recovery.

Long term Alcohol Rehab Programs have a greater amount of time to focus on the many components that are necessary to achieve Alcohol recovery success. In long term Alcohol Rehabilitation, the first element to be addressed is the Alcohol detox and withdrawal process. Most long term Alcohol Treatment Programs in Scottsdale, AZ. is inpatient or residential so the addict has around the clock support during this often arduous process.

Residing at the Alcohol treatment center offers the individual the opportunity to live side by side with individuals who have "walked in their shoes". Spending time with others, who understand the shame involved upon reflection on previous Alcohol fueled behavior, can help the individual in long term Alcohol Treatment in Scottsdale to move past some of these issues. Long term Alcohol Rehab offers counseling and group sessions or classes that are facilitated by a counselor who is on staff at the Alcohol rehab center.

In these group sessions individuals from Scottsdale can take the time necessary to get to the reasons why they began to abuse Alcohol. Beyond getting to the root of their addiction, the most important aspect of a long term Alcohol Treatment Program is relapse prevention. An individual must gain the knowledge and develop a plan for when they have completed the program to remain Alcohol free. Long term treatment in Scottsdale, Arizona will also help the individual to refine their basic communication skills which will help them to communicate and build healthy relationships.

Outpatient Drug Rehab in Scottsdale

Outpatient Drug Rehab facilities in Scottsdale offer day, night and sometimes weekend programs using a variety of different treatment options. Outpatient Drug Rehabilitation focuses on withdrawal, counseling, peer group sessions, and drug relapse prevention education. In Scottsdale outpatient Drug Treatment, many areas of treatment are often only lightly brushed over due to the limited time constraints. The detox and withdrawal portion of the program often take up the majority of the outpatient drug rehab treatment. Outpatient Drug Rehab in Scottsdale, AZ. may be successful for a select few, but most addicts need a longer Drug Rehab Program so that they can have enough time to master the tools that they are given to use.

At an outpatient Drug Rehabilitation in Scottsdale, sometimes there are assignments that are given to do at home, as well as random drug tests to confirm that the individual is not using drugs. There are some instances where outpatient Drug Treatment is the only option, as in the case of a single parent who has small children to care for and the individual who is the sole provider in the family home, and they have no choice but to go to work while in treatment.

In order for an individual in Scottsdale, Arizona to experience a level of success in outpatient Drug Rehab, they would have to have a healthy and encouraging group of family and friends to support them. Because individuals in outpatient treatment are allowed to return home at the end of each treatment day, they must avoid drug triggers that may often times be located in these familiar environments.

Although inpatient Drug Rehabilitation is far better in regard to long term success statistics, there are times when outpatient drug rehab is the only option due to personal circumstances. Any form of drug treatment in Scottsdale is a good indication that the individual has a strong desire to be free from drug addiction, and that person is headed in the right direction.
