Although there are several Medicare based drug and alcohol rehab programs in Massachusetts and they can help you get started on the road to recovery after a period of substance abuse and addiction, there are some things that you need to keep in mind.
For instance, Medicare does not cover every addiction treatment and rehabilitation facility. This is because the program has certain requirements based on the types of medical organizations that will be approved to provide treatment and recovery services.
A good example is that there are detoxification clinics and other facilities that are not directly connected to a psychiatric or general hospital. In many cases, you will find that these facilities will not be covered.
You should also check the eligibility requirements for Medicare. For instance, you will be enrolled automatically once you are 65 years and older.
